Dimensionality Reduction for Real-Time Light-Field View Synthesis of Kernel-Based Models

Peter Lambert is a full-time Associate Professor at the IDLab of Ghent University – imec (Belgium) since 2013, where he currently leads the IDLab-MEDIA research team. He received his Master’s degree in science (mathematics) and in applied informatics from Ghent University in 2001 and 2002, respectively, and he obtained the Ph.D. degree in computer science in 2007 at the same university. In 2009 he became a Technology Developer at Ghent University, which he combined with a part-time Assistant Professorship at the IDLab since 2010. His research interests are multimedia signal processing, data compression, computer graphics, visual communication, and AR/VR/MR/XR.
He is (co-)author of 220+ publications (incl. 50+ SCI-listed journal publications and 145+ peer-reviewed conference publications of which 8 received a paper award) and is co-inventor of 1 published and 1 granted (EP2664157B1) patent applications (full biography available on UGent’s publication repository or Google Scholar). He also regularly serves as reviewer for several scientific journals (e.g., IEEE TCSVT, ACM TMM, Elsevier SPIC) and international conferences (e.g., IEEE ICIP, EUSIPCO, PCS, QoMEX). He is promotor of 14 finished PhDs (2 interdisciplinary) and 6 on-going PhDs, and was involved in 6 other finished PhDs
He is lecturer for four 6-ECTS credit courses at Ghent University: Multimedia (BSc Informatics), Multimedia Techniques (BSc Computer Science), Design of Multimedia Applications (MSc Computer Science), and Computer Graphics (MSc Informatics). He also supervised 75+ Master theses.
