Glenn Van Wallendael obtained the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science Engineering from Ghent University, Belgium in 2008. Afterwards, he obtained the Ph.D. at IDLab, Ghent University, with the financial support of the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO). Since 2019, he works as an Assistant Professor for both Ghent University and imec on topics such as the efficient representation and compression of visual information, including 360 degree video, light field, virtual reality and the different operations on these modalities like (scalable) compression, transcoding, encryption, watermarking, personalized delivery, and quality estimation.
