Factcheck - Fake ads with anti-Ukraine sentiments

Dr. Hannes Mareen of IDLab-MEDIA was interviewed in the TV show The Observers on France 24. He previously helped The Observers with a factcheck to debunk a fake advertisement in a Warsaw metro station. The full article of the factcheck can be found here (in French). The video report (in English) can be watched here:

The advertisement is a false campaign inviting Poles to sign up to drive tanks in Ukraine, which alledgedly would be a sign that Poland has “imperial ambitions”. Hannes Mareen demonstrated that the advertisement is fake, by analysing the video frame by frame. He overlayed parts of the ad billboard that were visible through the windows of the metro station on top of the alledged advertisement. As these did not match, it strongly suggests that the advertisement is fake.
